Seoul's official name is 'Seoul Special Metropolitan City'.
This city is also notable for its population density which is almost equal to London's population and nearly double of Scotland's population.
Seoul is divided in 25 administrative divisions called 'Gu' (구) like- Gangnam-gu (강남구), Dobong-gu (도봉구) etc. Each gu (District) has its own government and is divided into various 'Dong' (동).
As talking about the cultural aspect UNESCO has listed 14 cultural sites of South Korea, including 13 cultural sites and 1 natural site. 3 sites of them are located in Seoul.
- Jongmyo Shrine (종묘) - (Seoul) Listed in 1995 as a cultural site.
